This page explains what data EatTrack collects, why, who it is shared with and how long it is kept.
It covers the EatTrack app for customers and the website www.eattrack.app. Drivers working for our partner vendors use a separate app, EatTrack Driver, covered by a separate information notice provided by their employer.
NYOS SRL
Rue André Mathys 18, 1350 Orp-Jauche, Belgium
Company number: 0647.925.059
Contact: app@nyos.be
For photos uploaded by merchants, EatTrack acts as a host. The merchant remains responsible for the content they publish and for obtaining any necessary permissions. If a photo concerns you and you want it removed, write to us at app@nyos.be: we will remove it without waiting for the merchant’s agreement.
Nothing is stored on our servers. Your language and country preferences stay on your phone.
Your location is used to show vendors near you and calculate distances. It is read when you open the app or the map, and is never stored by us. The app never requests background location access: it cannot track you when closed.
Your email address, provided by Apple or Google when you sign in. If you use “Sign in with Apple” and choose to hide your address, we only receive a relay address generated by Apple.
Your first and last name, only if Apple passes them to us at first sign-in.
Your language, to display the app in your chosen language.
Your favorite vendors.
Your proximity alerts: the name you give them, the location you choose (coordinates), and the days the alert is active. That location is a fixed point you define yourself — it does not move and does not reflect your whereabouts.
A notification identifier, provided by Apple or Google, allowing notifications to be sent to your phone. It is only stored if you have accepted notifications.
A merchant can upload a photo from their account area. It is published on their page and on the map, visible to everyone, including without an account. At upload they warrant that they hold the rights to it and have the consent of any people appearing in it. They can remove it at any time from their account area; we can also remove it if it causes a problem.
We do not record your location history, your searches, or how you use the app. The app contains no analytics or advertising tools.
The public pages of the website (home, how it works, join, about, contact) set no cookies and use no analytics or advertising tools. Access to our partner vendors’ dashboard, hosted on the same domain, requires a sign-in cookie — it only maintains the session and is not used for anything else.
If you fill in the form on the /rejoindre page to request a trial, we receive your company name, its company number, the activity you declare and your email address. This information is used only to contact you back and, if you become a customer, to create your vendor account. It is never used for third-party commercial purposes, nor shared with anyone outside our team.
Your account, favorites and alerts exist to deliver the service you asked for: finding your vendors and being notified when they pass by. The legal basis is the performance of the service agreement you entered into.
Notifications are only sent with your consent, given in your phone’s settings. You may withdraw it at any time.
Your data is accessible only to you and to our technical team, where necessary to operate or repair the service.
Vendors have no access to any information about you. They do not know who added them as a favorite, where you are, or how often you viewed their page. No personal data is shared with them.
We do not sell any data, to anyone.
Running EatTrack relies on a few service providers. Here is who they are and what is shared with them.
Supabase hosts our database, account management and server functions. All the data described above is stored there. The servers are located in the European Union.
Mapbox provides map tiles, address search and route calculation. When you search for an address to create an alert, or use “my location” to set one, your input and coordinates are sent to Mapbox from your phone.
We want to be precise here: Mapbox’s privacy policy sets no retention period for these requests, and states that the data, once de-identified, may be used to improve their products, produce aggregate statistics and train artificial intelligence models. We have no means of controlling or preventing this. Their full policy is available at mapbox.com/legal/privacy.
Expo delivers notifications to your phone, through Apple’s and Google’s services. The message sent contains the vendor’s name and the name of the location concerned, never your name or email address.
Apple and Google are involved when you sign in with your Apple or Google account, and in delivering notifications.
Your account, favorites and alerts are kept as long as your account exists. They are permanently deleted when you delete it.
The history of notifications sent, which only serves to avoid sending the same message twice, is erased after fourteen days.
Trial requests are kept for 90 days after submission, whether or not they lead to an account, and are then automatically deleted.
A merchant’s photo is kept for as long as they leave it online. It is deleted as soon as they remove it, and at the latest when their account is closed.
You may at any time:
Delete your account from the app, under Settings. Your account, favorites, alerts and notification identifier are then permanently deleted. This action is immediate and irreversible.
Remove favorites or alerts individually, without deleting your account.
Turn off notifications in your phone’s settings.
You also have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict and object to the processing of your data, as well as the right to data portability. Send your request to app@nyos.be: we respond within one month.
If you believe your rights are not being respected, you may lodge a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority (dataprotectionauthority.be).
EatTrack is not intended for children under thirteen and does not knowingly collect their data.
This page is updated as the service evolves. The date at the top indicates the last change. In the event of a significant change in how your data is processed, you will be informed within the app.
